Making a difference in the communityMercantile Gets It
Every day, and in so many ways, Mercantile employees work to better our communities. Because each year we volunteer more than 30,000 hours and serve on more than 200 local boards with all of you, the people who make a difference here.
We strive to be as generous as possible with financial support, but we also get that our responsibility goes far beyond that. From large and small towns, to fireworks, football games and parades, you make our slice of Michigan a wonderful place to be. We love where we live and couldn’t choose better neighbors to build a community with. Thank you for all that you do to make this a special place to be, and for letting us play along.
Each year Mercantile employees nominate nonprofit organizations they are passionate about for a Jean Day. One Friday each month employees are able to make a donation to the selected organization allowing them to wear jeans to work that day.
What is a MercMob? It's when Mercantile employees support locally owned businesses by gathering for lunch at a local restaurant. It's a great way to connect with our colleagues and support local businesses.
Employee participation in community events is a large part of the Mercantile culture. From walks, runs, bowl and bike-a-thons to dinners, auctions and galas, you can always find Mercantile employees among the guest list. In these and many other ways our employees make a real difference in the community and the lives of others.
