Apple Pay™

Benefits

Apple Pay will change how you pay with breakthrough contactless payment technology and unique security features built right into the devices you have with you every day. So you can use your iPhone, Apple Watch, or iPad to pay in a simple, secure, and private way. Apple Pay FAQs apple watch

Where Can It Be Used

Apple Pay lets you use iPhone 6 or Apple Watch to pay in hundreds of thousands of stores accepting contactless payments. You can also make purchases within participating apps on iPhone 6, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3.

How It Works

1

Add your Mercantile debit cards and personal credit cards to Apple Wallet.

2

Find a retailer that accepts contactless payments.

3

No need to open an app or wake your display. Just hold your phone or watch near the contactless reader with your finger on the Touch ID.

Security

With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual credit and debit card numbers when you add your card, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element, a dedicated chip in iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. These numbers are never stored on Apple servers. And when you make a purchase, the Device Account Number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code, is used to process your payment. So your actual credit or debit card numbers are never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment.
